Summer Recipes to try this summer
Summer has officially arrived here in Louisiana and it's not messing around! It's already a sauna outside and we haven't hit the hotter months yet! One of my favorite things about summer is the food! When I think of summer foods I think of tasty fruits, hydrating, infused water and grilling out. This post is created to gather the top 5 recipes that I want to try this season. Linked below are some recipes from other bloggers that I want to make this summer. They all look so yummy and I can't wait to try them!
Mexican food is one of my favorites! I can eat it until I make myself sick. Unfortunately, it's not always the healthiest to eat. I came across this mouth-watering recipe from Jo Cooks. It's made with grilled peppers, zucchini, squash and onion (just to name a few). Grilled vegetables are so delicious and I can only imagine how tasty this will be when I make it!
I believe one of the first things I ever made with my Vitamix was nicecream. I LOVE icecream but I hate all of the added sugar. Nicecream is so good and really simple to make. This recipe from Feasting on Fruit has mango, blueberries and delicious rice crispy clusters to top it off.
This recipe would be great with a side salad and it makes 6 servings so it's great for a dinner night with friends or you can save the leftovers for the next day (which is always my favorite). I will be trying this with chickpea pasta, because I'm on a chickpea kick right now, but any pasta will be fine. Recipe from Salt & Lavender.
4. Paleo Grilled Peaches With Coconut Cream
I've always wanted to try grilled peaches. Peaches are one of my favorite fruit. I'm not 100% convinced that I will like them grilled, but this recipe seems like the perfect way to try them. Coconut milk, cinnamon and vanilla will likely give it a nice added sweetness. Recipe from Paleo Grubs.
5. Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl
Fruit is one of my favorite foods to eat, and I especially love it in the summer! It's just the right amount of sweetness and it's so juicy. I also love how you can just mix all of your favorite fruits together and they all seem to go together perfectly. Smoothie bowls have been all the rage and they look almost too pretty to eat. This smoothie bowl from Sunkissed Kitchen looks absolutely amazing!
Do you have a go-to summer recipe? Is it a home-cooked berry pie? Maybe some mouth-watering BBQ? I'd love to know!
xoxo,
Amanda
