Eco-Friendly Oral Products
For the past few months, I've started trying to incorporate more of a zero-waste lifestyle. I have chosen this lifestyle, because I care about our environment. It sickens to me to see how much waste gets dumped into our oceans. Did you know that there are tiny pellets of plastic floating in the ocean and that fish eat this plastic thinking it's food? Next time you're eating fish, think about what that fish ate. Chances are you're eating tiny particles of plastic. My guess is you didn't want that with your meal! Let's move on before I go off on a tangent and make a ten page blog post about this. (I can get very passionate about some things).

I had the pleasure of working with WooBamboo this week and they asked me to try out a few of their products. I was so excited they reached out, because I have been wanting to get a bamboo toothbrush for some time now. The timing couldn't have been more perfect! Along with the toothbrush, I also received some floss and toothpaste - cinnamon and vanilla mint flavors.
So, first off - who doesn't want a product with a panda as their mascot? I love pandas so much. It may be partly due to it being my nickname for so long - Amanda Panda. If pandas aren't your thing and you need more persuading, then keep reading. WooBamboo has set out to make this world a better place by using what the earth gives us. The bamboo toothbrushes come in super soft, soft, medium and slim soft. I received the soft bristled toothbrush and really like how it feels on my gums. My gums tend to be a little sensitive from time to time so I always have to be careful when brushing my teeth. The best part is the handles are made with biodegradable bamboo so when it's time for a new toothbrush, you can recycle the old one!
If you have a dog or cat, they have toothbrushes for them, too!
I like both of the toothpaste flavors that I received, but the Vanilla Mint is my favorite! For the past year or two, my husband and I have been using flouride-free toothpaste and we have even made our own with just coconut oil and some essential oils. To be honest, it was hard for us to decide on a natural toothpaste that we both liked. The toothpaste from WooBamboo not only tastes refreshing, it makes my teeth feel really smooth afterwards! It's also made with natural ingredients and the tube is made of plant-based material. If you're wondering if it's cruelty free, the answer is yes!
My favorite product that I received is the biodegradable floss. It comes fully packaged in a plant-based plastic container and the bottom half of the package is also used as your floss dispenser. Talk about "two birds and one stone." Unlike other flosses, this floss is a tiny bit more thick, which I like. I feel like this floss actually gets in between my teeth versus the other flosses where I feel like they just touch the surface. It's made from natural silk and has a slight natural mint flavor.
